It's important to know that any improvement made through an exercise programme is a result of good rest and recovery. Training sessions, although imperative, are simply the catalyst for physical change. Tough physical training without sufficient nutrition and rest will severely blunt any desired adaptations to exercise, leaving the trainee feeling fatigued from physical exertion and frustrated with the lack of results. In the same vein, good nutrition and rest with no training will not produce results either.

Many people have been conditioned over time to believe there is some 'magic pill' that will get them into the shape they want to be in. Everywhere you turn bright-spark marketers are being paid very large sums of money to advertise these products. But does any of it work?

Toss the word ‘fitness’ into an impartial search engine and 0.34 seconds later it’s turned up about 263,000,000 results. Impressive. But let’s face it, most of it’s either completely useless or is just trying to sell you the latest snake oil or gizmo.
